UNN SUG President Suspended for Alleged diversion of NANS dues

This was made known following the communique issued at the end of the first pre-convention senate meeting of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone F Held at Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic,Uwana, Ebonyi State.

From the State of the Campuses Headline of the communiqué, it is observed and stated that for the the Capitation Fee, a report of alleged diversion of dues was made against UNN and some criminal elements in active connivance of the Union President. The zone was mandated to retrieve and direct the said fees to appropriate use. It was also resolved that the president of UNN SUG be and is Suspended from participating in Student's Unionism including his current office pending the determination of the matter.

Capitation Fee: The senate encouraged member unions to pay their dues in order to fund the activities of the zone. A report of alleged diversion of dues was made against UNN by some criminal elements in active conniving of Union President. The zonal was mandate to retrieve and direct such money to the appropriate use. it was further resolved that said president is suspended from participating in students unionism including his current office pending the determination of the matter.

Accordingly, the senate of the zone also fixed 8th to 10th June as the date for the next Convention while lamenting about insecurity, hike in School Fees, commercialization of education and decay of infrastructure in the various institutions.

Subject to any unforeseen circumstances the senate fixed.. 8 to 10th June 2023 as a tentative date for the convention that will usher in fresh leadership for the zone.

However, the Senate also commended Gov. Umahi of Ebonyi State for his developmental stride in the state.
