Recent victory by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ahmed Tinubu, in the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria has thrown the expelled Enugu East Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Chimaroke Nnamani, against the Governorship Candidate of the party, Hon. Peter Mbah, as Chimaroke has been issuing threats to deal with him and work against his election in the forthcoming polls.

Reliable sources close to Senator Chimaroke said the senator was angry when he saw a copy of the letter signed by Peter Mbah supporting his expulsion from the PDP for anti-party activities, saying he has been betrayed by those he supported.

It was reliably gathered that the Vice President of the PDP, South East Zone, Hon. Ali Odefa had asked Mbah to endorse the expulsion of Chimaroke for campaigning for Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambition against PDP and working against Enugu State government.

Mbah had received support from Chimaroke before the primary election but he was abandoned for Tinubu over some disagreements on Peter Mbah’s campaign strategy.

According to impeccable sources, Chimaroke who has been in court challenging his expulsion by PDP over fair hearing has been unhappy with the PDP gubernatorial candidate for instigating attacks on him by the PDP.

However, after Tinubu was declared with President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria yesterday, Chimaroke has renewed his threats to support APC candidate even as he has abandoned his ambition

He told his supporters of his plans to defect to the APC, assuring them of juicy position when Tinubu is sworn-in as President in May.

Call made by the scoopers to Peter Mbah to confirm the threat and war of words was unpicked by him. His media aide who was reached out refused to comment claiming he had no power to issue statement on the raging battle.
