Nsukka/igboeze-south federal constituency: Group asks Engr. Vita Abba to step aside

As the tide for who succeeds the incumbent member, representing Nsukka/Igboezesouth federal constituency kept occupying the political discuss among the constituents in a constituency that houses, not only one of the most populated local Government in Nigeria, but also, one of the most prestigious Universities in the country,( The University of Nigeria Nsukka) Political analysts have remained alert to know how the battle of 5th term between the constituents and their representative will finally end.

Following the the step taken by the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial zone, Sen. Chukwuka Utazi who on Sunday, 24th April 2022, officially announced that "he is sacrificing his senatorial ambition in the interest of peace and progress of his people", a good number of leaders from the senatorial zone are also expected to emulate this scarse but golden step in the spirit of sportsmanship, brotherly love and rationality by shielding their various personal ambitions in order to support the Governor in the fight to protecting the rights of the senatorial zone. Top among those who are expected to withdraw their ambitions are Rt. Hon. Dr. Pat. Asadu and Chief Engr. Vita Abba.

Casting our mind back to some pictures that trended both the social media and the media print, where a leading contestant for the seat of Nsukka/IGBOEZE-SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY like Dr. Oscar Ejike Ugwoke was seen being flanked by Engr. Vita Abba , one would hastily sense a fresh breeze as it appeared like mentorship has ernestly begun in the senatorial zone.

A hazy gaze at that picture would throw every youth into a euphoria of Jubilation as one could see a youth, full of energy and strength with educational requisite and power of negotiation, being backed by an experienced elder in the area of human management, which when garnared together would give our constituency its desired clamour for adequate representation. Unfortunately, the publication that followed the picture was a heartbreaking one.

Information at our disposal has it that the picture was taken when Engr. Vitalis Abba had ambushed other contestants by inviting them to a stakeholders meeting which some honoured in respect to their father and leader, unknown to them , the meeting was a clandestine craft of luring the contestants to Chief Vitta Abba's official declaration ground. As though it was not enough, he spotted one of the leading contestants Cheif Oscar Ejike Ugwoke and called him to come over to the high table, just for his Media aids to capture them and mischievously portray that as a support to Engr. Abba.

Should Engr. Abba still maintain the status of a stateman which he has been enjoying in the constituency, he should honourably bow out of the race and allow a fresh breeze to circulate as the youths are no longer happy that those who led their fathers during their days are still the ones yarning to lead them at their own prime years. Vita should start considering mentoring someone for that position in order to retain the respect he has this far earned and enjoyed among the people.

Perusing through the absurd publication where Vita called on the PDP family to reward him with the claim that the collective mandate of the people he held and enjoyed as the PDP Chairman in Enugu State for 8 years was a sacrifice for the masses and not a favor to him, and going ahead to making a demand that the party should reward him with the exalted seat of The Federal house of Representatives, shows that the highly celebrated Chief lacks some sense of gratitude.

Is it not unimaginable that someone who has been enjoying the Goodwill of the people as the leader of the party in Nsukka, a position he still enjoys up till date, could assume that he is doing the party a favor all along?

If Vita cannot show gratitude to a people who have repeatedly showed solidarity to him as their unopposed national delegate of the party, then I wonder what he will tell the people if he eventually,( just like his friend, Dr. Pat Asadu) clinches the seat of Nsukka/Igboezesouth federal constituency.

Is Chief Engr. Vitta Abba whose wife has occupied a juicy position like SPA project in the State with contracts being awarded to his company here and there still telling Ndi Nsukka that he is more than Oliver twist whose stomach can never be saturated no matter the quantity of food you plunged into it?

The same man has been rumoured widely that he is projecting his wife as the deputy governor of Enugu State with a deal to stampeding Ndi Nsukka with his house of Rep. ambition, while Asadu stays alert to pick the ticket immediately Vita's wife is favoured as the new Deputy Governor.

One may even begin to ask, has this leader not enjoyed enough spoils from our common wealth? Is he not the same Vitta Abba who has been so instrumental to Asadu's continued occupancy of that seat.
for the past 16years with fat envelopes often greeting his tables as long as Oziokoja had continued to enjoy the seat?

Why should we all tie our destinies around him? Hasn't he grown politically enough to endorse a youth among all those whom he is now mentoring to succeed his friend Pat. O. Asadu?

Let us not be tempted to use the word "selfishness" and "greediness" here but we are still searching for more suitable words to replace these two words, if we must avoid using them.

Furthermore, Gov. Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi should be awake to last minute betrayals, lest, what happened to Sullivan Chime in 2015 happens to him in 2022. The man in this picture is a master when it comes to the act of biting a finger that fed him. What happened in 2015 is still green in our memory and should not be taken for granted.

Signed: Nsukka/ Igboezesouth patriotic Youths.
