Enugu 2023:  It's time to support Ndi Awgu for Enugu Governor- Ex Lawmaker and Elderstateman, Chief Ernest Okolo

One time House of Assembly member and Elderstateman, Chief Ernest Okolo, has stated it's time to support Ndi Awgu for Enugu Governor. He made this remarks when he received the Former Deputy Senate President Sen Ike Ekweremadu and his entourage at Obinofia Ndiagu, Ezeagu LGA during the weekend. 

According to the ex-lawmaker and community leader, he said the four cultural zones, Nsukka, Nkanu, Agbaja and Awgu, represents the four Divisions that constitute Enugu state. And so far, all the cultural zones in Enugu state has produced Governor except Awgu cultural zone, and for the sake of equity and fairness, it is time to support Awgu cultural zone to produce Governor of Enugu state for they are part and parcel of the state. 

"The four cultural zones represents the four Divisions that constitute Enugu state, and Awgu people has consistently been denied Governor and deputy governor of Enugu State. Awgu people has a strong case for governorship this time and its right time to address the injustice. I am ready to say it anywhere, anyday, we must begin to tell ourselves the truth for the sake of posterity.

Chief Okolo further praised Ekweremadu for his good works and accomplishments as a Senator in every part of Enugu state in roads, water, electricity, education and human empowerment etc. Urged Ekweremadu not to give up as every well meaning person in Enugu state is supporting him and his governorship aspirations, "and remember to carry along those who are assisting him presently in this project when he succeed".

Sen Ike Ekweremadu while addressing the ex lawmaker thanked him and promised to make Enugu people proud as a governor through his innovative Agenda, a pathway to a new Enugu state.
