1. Right to know what offence you are alleged to have been committed When dealing with police don't be forceful or rude with your words.

to "catch" and knock them off when you are cool headed.Of course, there are times you need to get hot with them, but when it reaches that stage your training will prompt you up

Right to notify your household or neighbor of your Arrest before you follow police
When you have knowledge you are bold and it reflects all over you. You are not bound by law to follow anyone without notifying people who may be troubled by your disappearance

Right to ask any available person to accompany you. Yes, you cannot and must not be handcuffed by anyone including police, NDLEA, CIVIL DEFENCE, etc

Right not to be handcuffed by the Police CONDITION on Right
Section 5 of ACJA 2015 allows the police to handcuff any suspect provided:
a) the court gave order for his handcuff
b) the suspect is likely to injure himself not other person if not handcuffed
c) the suspect is had earlier escaped or attempted escape from Arrest.

Right to write your statement by yourself, or ask anyone of your choice to write for you in your language BUT NOT POLICE. If those three things did not happen, the suspect MUST NOT BE HANDCUFFED

Right to remain SILENT, not answering police questions until arrival of your lawyer or any other person of your choice (including HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST). Many have been added into the list of AWAITING TRIAL in prison (maybe correctional home for executive taste) because police helped them to write statement which landed them in trouble in the law court I BEG YOU IN THE NAME OF ALMIGHTY GOD, try to avoid writing your statement for the police in any language different from your NATIVE TONGUE
For all bailable offences, it is a human rights abuse for the police to keep anyone in cell or detention more than 2days

1. Bailable offences
2. Non-bailable offences

All offences are bailable except:
1. Murder
2. Armed robbery

In my few years of years of human rights ADVOCACY, I had resisted and had been assaulted (which I followed up to make sure the officers are sanctioned) and now respected for not paying a dime for police bail
