Following the 'kangaroo' impeachment of the SUG Senate President, Dist. Sen. Ifeanyi Nnamani, yesterday 17th August, 2021

which didn't follow the due process as stated in the Union constitution. 

Nwaigba info blog, has obtained a document containing the Press release from the Senate Presidency stating the true reasons why the 'Toronto' impeachment was Carried out.


From the Press release , it is Seen that that the Impeachment of the senate President came through as a result of his failure to sign the approval of #65,553,000.00 (Sixty five million, five hundred and Fifty three thousand Naira only) meant for the Students Project for 2019/2020 academic session.

Unfortunately, His refusal to sign the document which is titled " RESOLUTION OF THE STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT ON THE STUDENTS PROJECT AND REQUEST FOR THE PROMPT DISBURSEMENT OF AWARDED CONTRACTS FOR THE STUDENTS PROJECT (2019/2020 SESSION)

RE:Proposed Construction and Installation of Students outdoor/Relaxation seats" and his insistence on protecting the Welfare of Students and never to support impunity and corruption, Ani Stephen and Ugwuja Obinna Henry, the President of SUG UNN and UNEC Respectively in collaboration with the Deputy Senate President, Sen. OGbuh Chinazam Ame called for a senate plenary and impeached the senate President so as to enable them with the freedom to carry on with their wicked plans.

Again, our Correspondent has obtained from the clerk of the Senate a Document released to the entire University community entitled 'Notice against claim of proposed senate plenary', the documents states that " as the convener of the senate who has the sole responsibility and authority to convene senate plenary, I want to categorically state that there was no senate plenary held anywhere within the premises of both campuses of the university of Nigeria as there was no circular from my office to that effect"

Letter from the senate President to the Vice chancellor seeking to stop the disbursement of funds for the Students Project


The document also admonishes the Entire public to disregard the falsehoods being peddled online as they are intended to enable the mischievous individuals in perpetuating their wicked plans of siphoning the funds meant for Students project.
