IGBO ARISE AND PROMOTE OUR MOTHER TONGUE! ~ Chief Mrs Chinyere Odibeze Maduike

Chief Mrs Chinyere Odibeze Maduike deputy Chairman Ohanaeze Youth council Enugu State Addressing some groups of women wing yesterday states how important Igbo language are and the need to add some values for sustainability.

According to her, a generation without language is eternally doomed.

Can't we remember the calamity that bedeviled the people that want to erect a tower to heaven but along the line lost their language. Same remain the fate of ndigbo for neglecting our language.

 Let's look at the Chinese, they inscribe their language on all their products but an Igbo man finds it very difficult to speak igbo language in the public. Some of our women slapped their child for speaking Igbo language, what a shame!! .

In some European countries, you can't study in their University without learning their language first. Why can't igbo language command such respect? Because we're not proud of our mother land, we're not proud of our culture...., Can't Igbo raise the prestige of Igbo language? What's wrong with Igbo man that we can't speak our mother's tongue? It's quite disheartening that our children whom we take as our future generations can't even speak igbo very well. It's quite shamful that our so called mothers were the one misleading their children into speaking foreign language rather than igbo language. My heart and that of our ancestors bittered towards the downfall of Igbo language.

I use this profound medium to say that, it's sacred obligation on any Igbo man and woman round the global to start today to promote our mother tongue. We should consider it supreme task to promote our language. 

Promoting and speaking Igbo language does not in any form means we're not well educated.

I call upon our goverment, traditional rulers, Revs and pastors, Teachers, to create an avenue for the promoting our culture/ Igbo language in a great way even if it is a microcosm.

I challenge the elders of Igbo land to start teaching our children igbo language.

Unable to keep our language denotes that we're the proverbial bastard that point to his father's house with the left finger.

On final analysis, we should see Igbo language as a relay race where battons are exchanged. We have this golden language from our ancestors and we must pass it as legacy to future generations.

Therefore, we the members of ohanaeze ndigbo youths council were ready to apply due diligence in pursuing this great agenda, implementing and enforcing it.
