The scripture extract 'when the righteous is in power, the people rejoice' was a mere biblical theory until the arrival of the Udi Messiah, the Digital Mayor Udi has been blessed with. Ever since the emergence of Hon Ifeanyi Pascal Agu as the Executive Chairman of Udi Local Government, there is no doubt about Udi being turned into a SmartCity where people, even the students, can live, work and play. 

Thriving on the right path, the student-friendly Mayor erased the moribund experience the Udi Students faced in the days of yore by including them in his governance, leading an open-door policy where the students can always come around to share their ideas for the good of Udi Local Government Area. 

Before now, young people who also have responsibilities in government are not always carried along in the governance of their land. But leading a People-First Administration, the Digital Mayor of Udi Local Government, Hon. Ifeanyi Pascal Agu, was moved to create a platform, Udi N' aga n'iru Essay Writing Competition, where students can help the government in discharging their duties effectively by airing their minds on different matters concerning them, as well as coming close enough to bridging the gap of understanding between the governed and the Government and eventually producing more enlightened citizenry.

 Udi Naganiru Essay Writing Competition is a novel initiative organised by the Executive Chairman of Udi LGA which is intended to nip a prevalent lack of study and writing interests in the bud within Udi L.G.A in particular and the larger society by extension

 

This year's Udi Naganiru Essay Writing competition which is motivated by the urge to encourage scholarly efforts and research among young students preparatory for their future roles in attaining a just and egalitarian society is ended with an epoch-making Grand Finale which had people like Her Excellency, Amb. Fidelia Njeze, Sir. Pascal Okolie, Chief Chinedu Ani, Prof. Ngozi Alio, Igwe Kingsley Chime, and many other dignitaries who graced the occasion with the testimonies that Udi Naganiru Essay Writing Competition is the best thing to ever happen to Udi Students. 

The winners of the Essay Writing Competition were given cash awards ranging from 100, 000; 70, 000 to 50, 000 thousand for the Senior Category who are the undergraduates, and 50, 000; 30, 000; to 20, 000 foe the Junior Category who are the senior secondary students. 

With heart full of appreciation to the truly Digital Mayor of Udi who, in keeping to his sworn promises to revamp and reactivate the academic excellence for which our dear Udi was revered in the days of yore initiated the Udi Naganiru Essay Writing Competition, the avalanche of Udi Students wishes for other leaders to take them as the Udi Local Government Chairman has taken them.
