UNN SUG INFORMATION OFFICER GRABS SPORTS JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR AWARD

Held on Saturday, 30th March 2019 at the Princess Alexandria Auditorium. The Award night which was Designed to celebrate, recognize and encourage all sports lovers and all those who have made their mark in sports. 

This year Award night tagged " Prof. B.C Ozumba Farewell Cup" is The first ever University of Nigeria Sports Award Night which Pulled Through Courtesy of Comr. Star C. Mpama who is the Student Union Director of Sports.

The Award Night which is Supposed to start by 6:00Pm kicked off some minutes to 11:00pm late in the Night with many dignitaries and Sports Lovers and monomaniac attendance.

Some of the Dignitaries includes but not limited to The University Vice Chancellor, Prof B. C Ozumba who the the games is held in his Honour, The Chairman Delta State Volleyball Association, Former NANS Director of Sports; Comr. Kingsley Nwosu (Coach Niger), The University Sports Council Director and Other SUG Executives Led by the President, Comr. Fortunatus Chimezie.

The Information Officer, Comr. Kenneth Ugwu among the many Prestigious awards to many personalities was awarded the Sports Journalist of the year. The Compere of the Event while calling him up pointed out how dogged and passionate He has been going about his work as The information officer, noting that he facilitated greatly in the Awareness and Success of the Games.

The Event also witnessed Music presentation as the music department of the university thrills the audience in intervals with melodious songs.

The Vice Chancellor , While presenting His closing Remark, thanked the SUG official More Especially the Host, Comr. Star Mpama for the success of the games and Events noting that he didn't expect something wonder like this. In his words "I must Commend the Director of Games for this wonderful events..., if I had known that these event will be great like this I would have made sure that the school Administrators were here to share in this celebration..."

At the same time, appreciating the students for haven make time to honour this event, he promised to upgrade some of the sports Facilities in the university especially the Swimming Pool while assuring that the Director of Games will be Rewarded greatly by him for this Wonderful work.
