CHIEF MICHAEL ANDREW OLORUNFEMI
The Chief received Master of Science in Economics from London School of Economics in 1970.
Prior to founding Mak Mera in 1995, he worked with Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) as a financial analyst from 1973 to 1977 returning as Director of Research from 1989 to 1993, in which role he advised OPEC Oil Ministers on oil and gas production quotas and pricing.
From 1977 through 1988, while acting as a Nigeria representative to OPEC, the Chief also served as an executive in Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) including as Deputy Managing Director, Upstream and as Chairman of NNPC's engineering subsidiary.
He also served as Group Executive Director of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) supervising Nigeria’s investments in joint venture partnerships with the international oil companies.
CHIEF Michael Olurunfemi retired from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, as Group Executive Director of NAPIMS. At different times in NNPC, he was a Senior Petroleum Economist, Senior Financial Analyst, Deputy Group Managing Director (Corporate Service) and Chairman, NETCO, as well as Director, Research Division of Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.
He was Appointed Pro Chancellor On 9th April 2017, By President M. Buhari following a Letter Released on 6th April 2017, by the Honourable Minister of Education.
He succeeded Sir (Dr.) Emeka Enejere who was Sacked
In making the appointment, Mr. President had taken cognizance of the requirements for membership into governing councils, which include among others, a minimum of a university degree, high integrity, and commitment to educational development of the country.
